In Search of Kundun
Blue Mountain Dharma will continue its educational film series, screening In Search of Kundun
at 7 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, March 21. The event is free, and it will be held at the
Gryphon (ADDRESS). All with an interest in Tibetan culture and Buddhism are welcome to
attend. The film will be followed by a lively seminar-style discussion.
About In Search of Kundun
In Search of Kundun (1998), directed by Michael H. Wilson, is a documentary about the making
of Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated feature film, Kundun, which documented the life of His
Holiness the 14 th Dalai Lama. Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “penetrating and insightful,” In
Search of Kundun documents “emotion-filled” encounters between Scorsese’s film crew and
the Tibetans who star in the picture. Shot on location in Morocco and India, it features
interviews with His Holiness, as well as Martin Scorsese, Melissa Mathison, and Dante Ferretti.
Running time: 1 hour, 25 minutes.
